La Traversata dello Stretto di Messina abbraccia la Solidarietà (Fotogallery)

 Sabato 27 agosto, con
partenza alle ore 08.45, si è svolta una Traversata dello Stretto di Messina,
dedicata al Progetto di Mareterapia “Un Mare da Vivere… senza Barriere”
dell’Associazione “L’Aquilone” Onlus del presidente Rosario Lo Faro. Le acque dello
Stretto di Messina, grazie alle leggende mitologiche come Scilla e Cariddi,
Colapesce, Fata Morgana e i viaggi di Ulisse e Enea, attraggono, nuotatori di
tutte le parti del mondo. Già, nel mese di luglio, si è svolta una Traversata
benefica in favore dell’Associazione “L’Aquilone” Onlus, che ha visto
protagonista il piccolo statunitense Tancrede Roy di Boston (USA), accompagnato
dalla mamma Isabelle e dal papà Stephen e dal professional swim trainer,
assistiti dal leggendario “Seaman” Giovanni Fiannacca del Colapesce I. Grazie
alla famiglia Roy, quest’anno “Un mare da Vivere… senza Barriere” è stato
arricchito dal “Tancrede Swim Challenge... la sfida di un giorno la sfida per
la vita”, per ricordare il disagio che i nostri assistiti devono affrontare non
solo per un giorno, ma per la vita.
Un Evento di caratura internazionale che ha
avuto un’importante donazione da parte della famiglia Roy all’Associazione
“L’Aquilone” Onlus, il giusto riconoscimento per l’impegno sociale a favore
della solidarietà verso i disabili. Il mare è vita e può dar vita e speranza a
coloro che vivono il disagio. Anche nella Traversata del gruppo di nuotatori
della “Water World Swim” di San Francisco (California), che propone traversate
a nuoto in vari Paesi del mondo, tra i quali: Grecia, Italia, Cuba, Cile,
Argentina, la Manica, Alcatraz, l’Associazione ha avuto una donazione benefica
per il Progetto di “Mareterapia”. Questi i nomi degli atleti della “Water World
Swim” che, assistiti da Giovanni Fiannacca, hanno attraversato con successo lo
Stretto di Messina, con partenza da Capo Peloro sino alla sponda della
Calabria: Damian Matich (Nuova Zelanda); Leonid Neganov (Russia); Vincent
Florion (Francia); Rich Cipolla (USA); Luisa Pavia (Italia); Francesco Gastaldi
(Italia); Patrizio Tomada (USA). La Traversata di sabato è stata organizzata
dal “Professional Coach Ale” e dall’“International Events Manager Patrizio
Tomada” per la “Water World Swim”.
Il presidente Rosario Lo Faro, da oltre
dieci anni impegnato nel Progetto, ha dichiarato: “Ringrazio la famiglia Roy,
che ci ha dato la possibilità di dare inizio ad un percorso importante in riva
allo Stretto di Messina. Con la loro donazione abbiamo avuto un aiuto
fondamentale per le nostre attività associative rivolte alla disabilità. Quella
delle traversate per fini benefici è un’occasione anche per il futuro che vedrà
il coinvolgimento di chiunque possa dare un supporto importante alla realizzazione
di ‘Progetti’ dedicati ai portatori di handicap, per donare un sorriso a chi è
meno fortunato nella vita. Un ringraziamento va alla “Water World Swim” ed ai
suoi associati nuotatori che hanno creduto al nostro ‘Progetto’”. “Un messaggio
di speranza che unisce la gente, in quanto il mare non pone ostacoli e barriere
per raggiungere gli scopi benefici” – così ha, invece, concluso il manager
Patrizio Tomada. Felici e soddisfatti i nuotatori che, a fine Traversata, hanno
ricevuto la maglia ed una medaglia a ricordo dell’Evento.
Crossing the Strait of Messina embraces Solidarity

to Project Mareterapia 'A Sea of ... Living without Barriers'
Association 'The Kite' Onlus President Rosario Lo Faro. The waters of
the Straits of Messina, thanks to the mythological legends like Scylla and
Charybdis, Colapesce, Fata Morgana and the travels of Odysseus and Aeneas,
attract, swimmers of all parts of the world. Already, in July, there was a
beneficial Crossing in favor of the Association 'The Kite' Onlus,
which has seen protagonist the small US Tancrede Roy Boston (USA), accompanied
by her mother Isabelle and dad Stephen and professional swim coach, assisted by
the legendary 'Seaman' John Fiannacca of Colapesce I. Thanks to the
Roy family, this year 'a sea to ... Living without Barriers' has been
enriched by 'Tancrede Swim challenge ... the challenge of a day challenge
for life ', to remember the discomfort that our patients face not only for
one day, but for life.
An event of international scope that has had a major
donation by the Roy Family Association 'The Kite' Onlus, the proper
recognition for the social commitment to solidarity with the disabled. The sea
is life and can give life and hope to those who live in difficulty. Even in the
crossing of group of swimmers of the 'Water World Swim' of San
Francisco (California), which offers swimming crossings in various countries
around the world, including Greece, Italy, Cuba, Chile, Argentina, the English
Channel, Alcatraz, the Association has had a charitable donation for the
project of 'Mareterapia'. These are the names of the athletes of the 'Water
World Swim' which, assisted by John Fiannacca, have successfully crossed
the Strait of Messina, leaving from Capo Peloro until the shores of Calabria:

Tomada (USA). Saturday's Crossing was organized by the 'Professional Coach
Ale' and from '' International Events Manager Patrick Tomada 'for
the' Water World Swim '.
President Rosario Lo Faro, for over ten
years engaged in the project, said: 'I thank the Roy family, who gave us
the opportunity to begin a major route near the Strait of Messina. With their
donation we had a tremendous help for our club activities aimed at disability.
That for the purposes of benefits crossings is also an opportunity for the
future that will see the involvement of anyone who might make an important
support for the realization of 'Projects' dedicated to the handicapped, to give
a smile to those who are less fortunate in life. Thanks are due to the
'Water World Swim' and its associated swimmers who believed in our
'Project' '. 'A message of hope that unites people, as the sea does not
put obstacles and barriers to achieve the charitable purposes' - so has,
however, concluded the manager Patrick Tomada. Happy and satisfied swimmers
who, at the end Crossing, received the shirt and a commemorative medal of the
Event.
